Day 1: Saturday: Dijon Arrival in the afternoon in Dijon, the beautiful capital of Burgundy. You embark and will meet the crew and your tour leader. In the evening you will take a short test ride on your bike and your tour leader will invite you for an evening walk through Dijon. Day 2: Sunday: Dijon - Longecourt-en-Plaine Cycle trip approximately 25 km. In the morning you have free time to explore Dijon. Around midday your first cycle tour starts and you will follow the pretty Canal of Burgundy. At the end of the day you will find the barge in the village Longecourt-en-Plaine. Day 3: Monday: Longecourt-en-Plaine - Seurre Cycle trip approximately 45 km. Across small roads you cycle across some pretty villages to Plagny-la-Ville at the river Sane. Partly over the tow paths you start following the river. Enjoying this quiet and rural river landscape you continue to Seurre where the barge has already moored. Day 4: Tuesday: Seurre - Verdun-sur-les Doubs Cycle trip approximately 50 km. Today you will visit the beautiful fortified town of Beaune, also known for its many tastefull wines (Cote d'Or). Your tour leader will take you on a stroll through the town and you will have time to visit for example the church Collegiale Notre-Dame or the museum of the Burgundy wines. In the small town of Verdun-sur-les-Doubs the barge will await you. Day 5: Wednesday: Verdun-sur-les Doubs - Chalon-sur-Sane Cycle trip approximately 30 km. In the morning, cruise by barge to Chalon sur Sane. In this port town, located at the Sane River and the Canal du Centre, you will have some time off. You can do some window shopping, visit a museum or relax on the terras of on one of the many cafes. There's a round trip by bike through the surrounding region. Day 6: Thursday: Chalon-sur-Sane - Tournus Cycle trip approximately 35 km. Halfway between Chalon and Tournus you disemabrk and start cycling on the west bank of the river Sane. In Tournus you find the beautiful St Philibert church, which is certainly worth a visit. The abbey dating from the 10th century has a beautiful architecture and is one of the oldest in France. Day 7: Friday: Tournus - Macon Cycle trip approximately 45 km. Around Pont-de-Vaux you disembark and start the cycle trip across the agricultural region La Bresse Savoyarde. You visit the regional museum that includes an old farm house Domaine des Planons with characteristic Saracen chimneys. In St Andr-de-Bat you see the church with its octagonal clock tower. The tour ends in wine town Macon. In the evening your tour leader may invite you for a walk through town. Day 8: Saturday: Macon - Dijon End of tour and bus transfer back to Dijon.
