Overview
Welcome to Southern Africa
Cycling Tours South Africa It's a whole world in one country, whose riches in natural attractions are as fascinating as the people who live in it with their diverse cultures. Magnificent beaches along the Indian and Atlantic oceans, tropical forests, arid lands, snow-capped mountains, cultivated winelands, and a unique African animal kingdom - all this and more await you on African Bikers' adventure tours.
Adventure Tours in Southern Africa Jens and Andreas, could not forget this vibrant and diverse country at the tip of the African continent after a one-year cycle tour through the whole of Africa. Following the democratization of South Africa and their immigration to this country, Jens and Andreas became tour operators in 1993, and will show you the ‘new South Africa’ from their home in Cape Town. Whether touring by bicycle, hiking, or participating in an adventure tour into neighboring Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe, with African Bikers you can experience the ‘real’ Africa in a gripping and realistic way. They will not only show you the varied and breathtaking countryside, but you will also be able to meet the people and experience their diverse cultures, which play an important role in South Africa.
Depending on the tour you choose, stay in private homes as guests in a Zulu township, or in Mission stations, cozy guest houses, hotels or chalets – and on adventure tours tented accommodations in true African style are offered.
Personalized Tours Personalized care is very important to African Bikers. They therefore prefer to keep groups small and accommodations, where possible, are personal and typical of the country or area being visited. For example, while on the cycling tour along the Garden Route, Shelagh, a true Capetonian, will spoil you with a variety of mouth-watering, typical South African dishes.
Cape Town Project While in Cape Town, you will have the unique opportunity to visit a Charity Project in the ‘township’ of Khayelitsha, which is actively supported by African Bikers. Mavis Mbaba founded this Educare Centre known as Noluthando, which means The Place of Love and Care, in 1994. Presently about 186 children between the ages of two months and six years are cared for here daily for a monthly fee of R70. Six educare teachers, including Mavis, have been trained in the Waldorf method.
The vast number of visitors returning for a second visit is a clear indication that African Bikers' personal concept of active and mind-expanding tours has proven successful. They would like you to leave here and return, as friends.
Jens and Andreas are looking forward to a wonderful time with you here in Southern Africa, filled with rich experiences and memorable moments.
