Professional photographer Peter Morales, a regular attendee of the Amgen Tour of California and The Tour de France, will teach you how to capture the fast action shots of professional cycling. Each day will consist of traveling to several different locations where you will have the opportunity to get the perfect shot of the breakaways, the peloton, the heart break, and elation as the various professional cyclists strive for the days stage win. You will also be sure to capture alternative scenic shots that go along with the festival atmosphere. You will be given hands-on assistance with the prepping of your camera and planning and execution of your shots. Each evening you will plan and prepare for the next day’s event.
An exciting adventure that combines your passion for cycling with action-photography.
Imagine capturing the peloton as they are strung out next to the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, or as a bunch while they climb through a rugged mountain range with a backdrop of perfect cloud formations. Picture those great action shots of your favorite professionals: Armstrong, Hincapie and Leipheimer, as they race by at lightning speeds.
If you share a passion for photography and professional bicycle racing, the Amgen Tour of California Photography trip is the adventure for you! Bikes, Boats & Boots has partnered with professional photographer, Peter Morales, who has been photographing professional cycling events for many years. In fact, he is a regular attendee at both the Tour de France and the Amgen Tour of California.
Peter will provide personalized instruction for prepping your camera, planning and executing your shots, as well as scouting and locating the ideal shot site. He will also teach the best methods for capturing the close shots of the breakaway when the cyclists are so desperate to stay in the lead and win the day; and shooting the climbing shots, time trials and the sprints as the cyclists all battle for the finishing kite.
In order to position yourself as close as possible to the action of each day’s event, lodging will consist of hotel rooms that are normally one day ahead of the event. This trip will be limited to six people to ensure high-quality, individualized instruction and attention.
