Overview
Black Bear Adventures bicycle tours are designed with special emphasis on appealing to the true cycling enthusiasts. Most of their tours are set in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. But with that being said, this season they have expanded their tour offerings to incorporate additional areas that are especially significant in the South, the Coastal communities of Charleston and Savannah, along with tours highlighting the historical Natchez Trace. So while most tours are geared toward fairly advanced cyclists, these new additions to the repertoire are for cyclist of all abilities.
While these tours may challenge you physically while on the bike, they are designed to pamper you when you are off the bike. They have selected the areas finest accommodations and only the best local cuisine. Guides are trained to enhance your experience keeping in mind that this is your vacation. They are always mindful and appreciative that you have chosen to spend your valuable time with them. Black Bear Adventures keeps tour group sizes small to promote an intimate feel and allow guests to truly develop friendships along their journeys.

"I’ve biked all over the country, but if I had to choose only 1 place to bike for the rest of my life it would be on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Why do I like it so much? There are no route changes, the road surface is excellent, no commercial traffic, the max speed limit is 45 (does that apply to bicycles?), and there is breath taking scenery almost everywhere. There’s probably no highway more suited to bicycling in the world."

"I just want to thank you so much for making our bike trip so wonderful. Everything about it, was perfect. The lodging was so varied and each night I looked forward to seeing where I would lay my head. I love the idea that you went from luxury hotels, to rustic cabins, to out of the way lodges. The dining experience was just as impressive. I love the relaxed picnic lunches in beautiful surroundings to our huge feasts at dinner time. After biking all day, food as you know, is very important ... but I never expected to eat that well! Or that much! It was beyond my expectations.
