Breakaway Adventures is an established and experienced tour company that offers more than 200 relaxed overseas getaways where guests can walk, bike, trek or barge through the back roads of 30 countries, including Italy, France, Greece and Great Britain. Owned by husband and wife team Michael Carson and Carol Keskitalo, who believe that walking, cycling and barging tours are unmatched in their ability to expose the real beauty and culture of a country, Breakaway Adventures selects only the highest quality tours into the heart of the regions they have personally traveled and lived in.
While Breakaway Adventures offers a full range of options for travelers, including group, guided, independent and self-guided tours, the company specializes in independent tours that are fully supported. This unique experience allows guests to travel at their own pace, stopping to immerse themselves in local culture at cafes, shops, museums and more as desired along the way, but with a local staff member always on call to assist as needed.
Breakaway Adventures offers something for everyone, no matter their age or fitness level. Guests can choose from a range of options, including challenging cycling and trekking trips for the more athletic traveler to shorter, slower walking and cycling adventures for those looking for a more relaxed pace. They are also the only tour company to offer barging tours as an option in addition to walking and cycling tours. Barging, a great choice for group travel, allows guests to visit Europe's towns and countryside via canals and rivers aboard a private, luxurious boat with a dedicated chef, captain and crew.

Reservation Policy
A deposit of $300 per person is required and can be made by personal check or a major credit card.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your tour, Breakaway must be notified in writing. The following cancellation charges in U.S. dollars will apply: - 61+ days - Deposit is nonrefundable
- 45-60 days - 50% of trip price
- 30-44 days - 75% of trip price
- 0-29 days - 100% of trip price
