Jason and the Argonauts sailed all over Greece in their boat, the Argo, looking for a special ram's fleece made of gold, the Golden Fleece. The goddess Athena fitted the Argo's prow with “speaking timber” that advised the Argonauts which direction to steer. Jason and his crew had many adventures at sea, and so will young kids, the Junior Argonauts, on this family cruise in Greek waters island hopping in the southeastern tip of the Peloponnese Peninsula.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Piraeus to Aegina Welcome to Greece! Get ready to embark on the yacht which will be your family's vacation home for the next eight days. You sail to Aegina island, famous for its pistachios. With bikes on board, you can pedal around the harbor or ambitious bikers can climb up to the Temple of Apollo.
Day 2: Epidavros Sail to Epidavros with a pit stop at Agistri island for some swimming and snorkeling in the Aegean Sea. At the mainland we transfer to Ancient Epidavros to tour the 3rd century BC outdoor theatre (seats 15,000) which is still in use due to its impeccable acoustics. Sitting in the last row, you can hear someone whisper from the stage below. Cycle back to port downhill.
Day 3: Poros Morning sailing to Poros island whose two bays supply all the water sports you will need --- water skiing, snorkeling, little boats, sea kayaking, windsurfing. Poros port will charm your heart with its tall clocktower and pastel colored buildings lining the harbor front.
Day 4: Hydra Morning sailing to Hydra island. Hydra is a car-free island whose only transport is mules, foot or boat. It has an elegant artist's colony on the upscale end. While Mom and maybe Dad wander into the art shops, handmade jewelry stores and clothing boutiques, one of the crew takes the kids on a gentle hike inland and upward, ascending to the Profitas Elias monastery.
Day 5: Spetses Morning sailing to Spetses island, home of many wealthy shipbuilders. Spend the day circumnavigating the island by bike, stopping at the beach with an underwater cave you can swim into. Cars are banned in the harbor town, Dapia. Treat the kids to a ride in a horse drawn carriage on the cobble-stoned streets.
Day 6: Nafplio Morning sailing to Nafplio to bike to Mycenae, home of King Agamemnon, with its wondrous circular tombs. He was the ruler who launched the Trojan Wars. Return in time to hike the 999 steps to Palamidi Fortress which offers commanding views of the land and seascapes.
Day 7: Nafplio Nafplio, modern Greece's first capital, is a gorgeous city with children playing in the plazas. In the afternoon you bike along a wide stone and dirt path which hugs the sea taking you to Karathona Beach, suitable for serene swimming.
Day 8: Departure Early morning transfer to Athens airport for departure.

Notes
Argo Adventures ride is rated EASY.
Bike Ratings Easy: For travelers who do not bicycle regularly, but enjoy it. They want a relaxing vacation enriched with a modicum of daily outdoor physical activity. Day’s Cycling: 3-4 hours, up to 25 miles, steep ascents rare.
Moderate: For cyclists who bike regularly, perhaps daily. Bicycle is a primary means to satisfy their frequent outdoor activity. Day's Cycling: 4-6 hours, between 25 to 50 miles — possibly more, moderate and some steep ascents welcomed.
Challenging: For people who worship the bicycle. These physically fit riders enjoy hours in the saddle and no terrain is too formidable. Day's Cycling: at least 6-8 hours, 50 to 75 miles or even a century, capable of repetitive climbs and might even crave steep ascents.
Optimum Ages A parent or legal guardian must accompany any child under 18 years old. CycleGreece's dedicated family tours are designed for children ages 9 and up who are capable of riding the regular tour. If a child is under nine, or unable at any age to ride the regular tour, they can easily customize the tour to fit your family's needs, so long as there are a minimum of 12 people in the same tour. If your family group is under the minimum participants requirement, CycleGreece will then place you in the tour that interests you along with one or more other families that have booked their family cycling tour so that the minimum number of participants is met.
Bicycle Needs Children nine and older, as well as adults, are provided with a bicycle and bike helmet suitable for their size. Dedicated family tours travel on asphalt or hard-packed dirt country roads. Cycling routes are chosen for their minimal contact with motor vehicles, scenic splendour, array of child-oriented activities en route and mileage capability. Average daily distance covered is 22 kilometers or 13.5 miles. A support vehicle is within distance of the group at all times. It carries water, snacks, tools, and spare parts, and riders may get a lift if they are tired.
Children's Needs Many children do not particularly appreciate foreign cuisine. With this in mind, CycleGreece has carefully chosen to dine in child-friendly establishments, while making sure that the parents enjoy Greek cuisine at its very best. The pesticide-free home grown products used in traditional cooking by the locals is healthy and so delicious that even youngsters turn into big fans of Greek cooking.
Insurance Travel insurance is mandatory to cover all participants in family tours. You must purchase full coverage travel insurance for all family members, including in the event of trip cancellation, loss of property and personal injury.
