Day 1: Sevilla to Carmona: Arrival and Town Exploration Midmorning coach transfer from the pick-up hotel in Sevilla to the lovely walled town of Carmona (40 minutes). The afternoon is free to enjoy an al fresco lunch of tapas in the town square before exploring the maze of Arab-like streets, Later, fit the bikes. In the evening, get acquainted over a glass of champagne and a welcome dinner. B,D Day 2: Carmona to Palma del Río: Cycling - 51km/31.5 miles Beautiful, typically Andalusian countryside unfolds as you ride quiet country roads graced with olive trees, fields of wheat, sunlight and wildflowers. Afternoon finds you in Palma del Río at the charming converted 14th century monastery of San Francisco famous for its cuisine. B, D Day 3: Palma del Río to Córdoba: Cycling - 70km/43.5 miles Today you'll have a fairly long but mostly flat ride following the Guadalquivír River, lifeblood of the Andalusian plains, to the magnificent town of Córdoba. Along the way, stop to visit a stunning castle rising up from the fields of grain and wildflowers. Spend two nights next to the historic 8th century Mosque. B, D Day 4: Córdoba: Walking & Sightseeing Today, walk instead of roll for a guided tour of the Mosque. The day is then free to explore all of the other sights, soak up the ambiance or do a little shopping. Córdoba is without any doubt a town best seen on foot. Why not try the Arab baths before enjoying a feast at Córdoba's most famous tapa bar and restaurant. B, D Day 5: Córdoba to Baena: Cycling - 66km/41 miles After winding your way out of town, ride on stunning country roads surrounded by a never ending sea of olive groves. In the afternoon, visit the renowned Nunez de Prado Oil Mill. The night's destination is just across the pretty park from the oil mill - once a private mansion, now converted into a charming hotel. B Day 6: Baena to Priego: Cycling - 55.5k/34.4 miles This morning, cycle south into a remote unspoiled region of the southern Córdoba Province, taking advantage of Spain's 'Rails for Trails' system. You'll be staying in the countryside, in a lovely resort in the form of a small Andalusian village. Enjoy magnificent views of the countryside from the refreshing pool! B, D Day 7: Priego to Montefrio: Cycling - 55k/34 miles Today, head south for the white-washed village of Montefrio through what many consider this the most beautiful ride of the tour. The countryside is rolling and gets steep at times. You'll be staying in Montefrio, a town situated spectacularly between two rocky outcrops each topped with a church. B, D Day 8: Montefrio to Granada: Cycling - 51km/31 miles A flatter ride today takes you through fields of asparagus dotted with wildflowers and butterflies. Ride through numerous sleepy little Andalucian villages with grand views of the Sierra Nevada that beckon you on to romantic Granada. Transfer into Granada where you check into a charming hotel within easy reach of the Alhambra. B, D Day 9: Granada: Walking & Sightseeing You have all day today to explore this legendary city - starting with the breathtaking Alhambra - the fortress palace of the last Moorish caliph. Afterwards you have plenty of time to visit Granada's other important sights, shop, or take a relaxing dip in local baths. Evening finds you toasting to your adventures at one of Granada's most famous restaurants. B, D Day 10: Departure: Transfer and Onward Travel Breakfast and morning transfer to Granada airport for those needing it. Optional transfer to Sevilla.
