We Are Not Just Owners, We Take Our Own Tours As Well

Hi and thank you for investigating People On Bikes. We are Gord and Jan Townley and it is our pleasure to present People On Bikes to you. As you can see from the picture, we not only present the tours, but we take them as well. Together with Primoz, we have created People On Bikes to be a cycling tour company that is very client focused, providing trips in interesting places on routes that we ourselves have not only designed, but have personally ridden. Take a closer look and ask us any question that comes to mind. We look forward to riding with you.

It's The Personal Service That Counts

Meet Ales and Chris. As you can see, Ales is very customer focused - he even refills the water bottle of his colleague and fellow guide. You will find this kind of personal service throughout our tours. We go out of our way to add that personal touch that we would look for on a tour if we were taking it. After all, we are "People On Bikes", just like you.

Have Some Fun and Learn Along The Way

Erin is our senior guide, along with Gord, for our King Arthur's England tours. A student of literature, she has been very active in the route design and personalization of the Arthur legend for the trip. If you could picture a modern day Guinevere - complete with bike helment and the accompanying outfit, that would describe Erin. You can ride the King Arthur tour in May or August, or join Erin in Croatia in June, Slovenia in July or the Vienna to Prague trip at the end of August.

Bicycle Tours are More Than Just Riding

All of our tours have other activities. While riding is a key focus, obviously, each itinerary has a wide range of complementary activities and events. Here, the team is being taught the basics of sea kayaking before we hit the water in Nova Scotia. You will also catch us on hikes, historical tours, wine tasting (and special tastings of other interesting items!), live performances and other fun things to do along the way.

Leading Guide-Ance For Your Trip

Primoz is our most seasoned guide. He was born and raised in Slovenia and currently lives in Ljubljana with his family. In the off season, he works with the Slovenia national ski team. He lives for the outdoors and will entertain you with stories of extreme skiing (complete with video). As a guide, he is fully committed to making your trip special. Primoz is also a People On Bikes partner, so you know that he is committed to you!

Our Guides Are Focused

Jeff is one of our senior guides - you can tell by his expression that he takes his job seriously! An avid cyclist, he has a real passion to making your trip a great adventure. He is the guide who will take those tour members looking for that “extra challenge” along the longer and steeper routes. Give him a mountain and watch him climb! But don’t worry… he always circles back to make sure everybody can make the climb and follow the route. Distract him by asking him about ice hockey - a true Canadian! Jeff has been very instrumental in designing the Nova Scotia tours and has personally ridden all of the main roads, side routes, and other excursions in that beautiful province.
