Spring Classics From Flanders to Limburg Lite Option 6
Lite Option itineraries have been very successful since their introduction in 2005, and offer flexibility and semi-customization for the Classics fan. The primary advantage of these itineraries is they offer those with a smaller window of time for travel, or a smaller budget, the opportunity to select their favorite race or races and still experience the highlights of the Spring Classics. Lite Option 5 offers Paris-Roubaix and The Scheldeprijs. Highlights of this 7 night/8 day itinerary include visiting the Eddy Merckx and Museeuw Bikes factories; riding a portion of the Tour of Flanders course and a visit to the Tour of Flanders museum; our legendary, fully supported Paris-Roubaix course ride from the Arenberg Forest to the Roubaix velodrome with Team CSC/Saxo Bank Director Sportif Scott Sunderland; multiple viewing locations of Paris-Roubaix on race day, including live coverage of the final sectors; race course recon ride and VIP access for the The Scheldeprijs, including race viewing with former Belgian National Champion Serge Baguet; and 4-star accommodations in three historic cities- Doornik (Tournai in French), Mechelen and Antwerp. This itinerary connects guests with the Spring Classics I itinerary on the ride from Gent to Doornik, and includes four dinners. You will be greeted at the Brussels Airport upon arrival on Thursday, April 9th and transferred to your meeting point, where you will be assisted with bike assembly, have lunch and ride the final 45 km to Doornik.
For Lite Option 6, you'll have the opportunity to see The Scheldeprijs and The Amstel Gold Race. Highlights of this 6 night/7 day itinerary include race course recon ride and VIP access for the The Scheldeprijs, including race viewing with former Belgian National Champion Serge Baguet; riding the 2002 World Championships course in Huesden-Zolder on your way from Flanders to the Province of Limburg and the city of Genk; visiting the American Military Cemetery in Margraten; riding the climbs of Liège-Bastogne-Liège; riding the Amstel Gold Race Cyclosportif and VIP access to the start of the race in Maastricht; and 4-star accommodations in three historic cities- Antwerp, Genk and Maastricht. This itinerary connects guests with the Lite Option 5 itinerary on the way to Antwerp and then with the Spring Classics II guests in Maastricht, and includes four dinners. You will be greeted at the Brussels Airport upon arrival on Tuesday, April 14th and transferred to the meeting point, where you will be assisted with bike assembly, have lunch and ride the final 45 km to Antwerp on The Scheldeprijs course.
